Why the nymphs? About beauty and nature
All my art is around two things: nature and beauty, and both get expressed together in the shape of the nymphs, and more exactly in the dryads, the nymphs of the trees.
Tamzyn Dubois as a dryad (modest version). |
"The dark forest" - the lady of the forest, in the darkest dense forest. |
The forest here symbolizes the same as in Robert Frost's poem:
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
A primal desire to go into nature, be an animal again, or less civilized and human. Or the place where they belong, because of their own nature, these nymphs.

Other ways I use to depict my women is like princesses or ladies, this usually just because they look great. I don't do it so often but I like it, as they have part of those attributes like the power, the beauty, and the dignity.
More often I do warrior nymphs, whose purpose is to protect the forest. Like in the one below:
"Warrior nymph (modest version)". |
"Nymph of the roses" |
