Building a roguelike game like no other

Now that I made the graphics for the monsters, I'm experimenting with the creation of scenery.

I decided to remake all. At the beginning I was going to update told game. But now I think that although I liked the story and the setup, new players will not have any appreciation for the old stuff.

I have so many new ideas, that I think it's better to not save anything for later, and do all new stuff.

Abandoned places stone ruins with growing plants

So the game will have new story, new mechanics, new sceneries and levels.

I reuse many good monsters but with new graphics, and add some new ones. They will also have more new features in combat.

The sceneries' concepts will remain only on some levels, and add new ones, removing the weak ones.

Abandoned temple ruins fantasy art with stone walls and flowers

Every graphic will have atmospheric effects, moving lights and shadows. In the artistic part, I am also trying that every graphic triggers your imagination: suggest a path to follow, a doorway to some mystery, a path for the vision.

Stone archways ruins with hanging plants

This game, "Caverns and Dryads" is a project that has a special meaning for me, and I want it to be immersive and pleasing in the aesthetics, story, and gameplay.

The story will thus, change too. From pure caverns, we will now move through a forest, then ruins, Caverns, abandoned palaces, and underground cities.

Stay tuned, and follow this blog for more.
