Where the game is going
This week I had little time, but I made great advances. I have made the description of all the places, added the new images for monsters and places, and the translations for the names of the monsters.
I also had great ideas for features. I am probably going to implement it all, but setting some "milestones". For example, first get a game where you can move, fight, rest, and those things. Once reached, I will go for the next milestone of adding the cities, the story, and so on.
I also had the unexpected big help of Copilot. Yes, the AI assitant that comes in Bing search engine, from Microsoft. It is very curious, but Copi doesn't do a good job at programming usually. It makes mistakes and can rectify on them if you tell him. Just like a person. It's not the AI mastermind that people think.
But it makes it more like a copilot, a helper, and less a replacement. He can give ideas, and you can build a good code or feature with his help. I will write more about it. For now, just let me tell you that it doesn't think in the way that has been said. His strong points are others, the same you may find in someone who makes mistakes, can't do it all, but can help you to work, and it absolutely shines at explaining concepts and helping to learn.
If you use Copilot for trying to replace your work, it's useless. But if you use it to boost your work, it is immensely creative!
I prefer it over other assistants because it checks what it says, although it can misunderstand some things (usually doesn't).
One of the things we did together was making a script that read all the titles of images in disk and added them to the database. Once done, I made the descriptions. It saved me a lot of time.
I also made this work, "Between the leaves", of Tamzyn in the forest, just awaken from her night sleep. The leaves hug her just as an embrace.
As soon as the game starts to have screenshots to show and some basic features, I plan to do two things:
- Open a forum, to show and discuss features.
- Open a patreon for the game, for people to help with their support if they wish.
I think now I am in the good track, and very excited to develop this world of my game, that makes so many fantasy places and creatures come to life. I'll tell you of my vision of it in another post! :)
